Blaupunkt's E series navigation systems make navigation as easy to fit as a car radio. An internal gyroscope means that this system does not require a vehicle speed pulse signal - making installation 'plug and play' (optionally, a speed pulse signal can be connected for increased coverage and accuracy).

Satellite navigation system, RDS radio receiver and CD/MP3/WMA player in one box - reliable, easy to fit and easy to use, the system will guide you precisely to your destination.

Large route-corridor & surrounding-area memory allow you to replace the navigation CD-ROM with an audio disc, once your destination has been entered.

Guidance is given by means of clear symbols, colour TFT display with junction-zoom feature and pleasant voice to front speakers.

Rome NAV55E navigation system navigation features:

• As a destination is entered, the corridor-function will store map data required to navigate. System memory remaining is filled with surrounding-area information. The navigation CD-ROM can then be removed and the unit used as a CD player
• Destinations can be entered by place name, house number, postcode area, a centre, a road name,  crossroads, or special destination such as motorway junction, hotel, shopping centre etc.
• Traffic announcements will interrupt radio / CD at a preset volume level
• Visual confirmation of instruction is shown on display
• Up to 24 destinations can be memorised in four memory banks. The last 10 destinations entered are stored for rapid retrieval
• Vehicle's current position can be stored as destination memory
• TMC feature will recalculate route to avoid congestion if tuned to a station broadcasting TMC information  (requires TMC CD-ROM)
• TMC traffic messages relevant to your location are optionally stored and displayed if the radio is tuned to a station broadcasting TMC data (requires TMC CD-ROM)
• By manually telling the system when a traffic jam is encountered, the unit will calculate a revised route to by-pass the delay
• Preference can be given to Fastest / Shortest / Optimum / Motorway / no Toll / no Ferry or TMC guided (requires TMC CD-ROM) routes
• Navigation instructions can be in any of 10 languages: English (metric or imperial), German, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Finnish

Radio tuner features:

• LW / MW / FM waveband coverage. 30 station presets
• SHARX system ensures that even radio station signals that are extremely close together are separated cleanly. SHARX is part of the DigiCeiver concept
• RDS-AF (alternate frequency) feature inaudibly retunes the receiver to the best available signal for the station that is currently set
• Travelstore automatically stores the six most powerful radio stations transmitting locally in the FM memory bank. Stored stations can be scanned
• TA (traffic announcement) will switch station for the duration of a traffic report. The original station is restored at the end of the report. Tone and volume of traffic announcements can be independently set
• PTY-EON (programme type) information displays and allows selection of similar types of programme (news, pop, classics, sport etc.). Program types can be assigned to preset station buttons and type names displayed alongside softkey buttons
• Preset scan will play all receivable stations for a period (10 seconds)
• Switchable hi-cut filter improves reception of weak FM stations by reducing treble

CD features:

• Will play standard audio CDs and CD-R&R/W discs
• 8x oversampling CD deck. Frequency response 20 - 20kHz (-1dB)
• Fast searching, random play, track scan and track repeat functions
• Compatible Blaupunkt aftermarket CD changers can be connected. Changer magazine mix function

MP3 / WMA features:

• MP3 / WMA file playback from CD-R&R/W discs
• MP3 / WMA Files can be grouped into a maximum of 252 folders. Up to 255 files per folder
• MP3 Decoder will support variable bit rates between 8 kbps and 320 kbps
• WMA Decoder will support max. bit rate of 768 kbps. Will not play DRM restricted files
• File names can be displayed. Unit will also display up to 32 characters of ID-3 tag  (version 1 or 2) information. Display can scroll across screen
• Directory browsing, fast searching, random play, track scan and track repeat functions

Amplifier features:

• 4 x 50W max power amplifier (4 x 26W RMS). Separate adjustments for treble, bass, fader and balance 
• Speed dependant sound adjustment automatically increases volume, by one of ten profiles, to compensate for increased noise at higher speeds 
• Source-specific sound adjustment. Bass & treble settings can be different for each sound input source
• DEQ digital sound adjustment provides a five-band equaliser
• Loudness sound enhancement for low level listening. Programmable to achieve the effect most suited to the vehicle acoustics and audio system components used
• Power on, muted, telephone call and navigation announcement volumes can be independently set
• Four channel (4.0V) preamp output for connecting external amplifiers (requires accessory cable)

• Blaupunkt compatible infra-red remote controls can be added as an optional accessory. Unit can be linked to many makes of factory-fitted remote controls with an additional adaptor
• Telephone audio can be fed through radio's amplifier and listened to  via vehicle speaker system (requires accessory lead)
• Timer allows 60 minutes use with ignition switched off, to protect vehicle's battery
• Display brightness during day and nighttime can be adjusted to suit viewing conditions, or automatically adjusted by an internal sensor
• Clock display can be selected. Time automatically set by GPS signal
